Panic has spread in Amjadnagar village of India-Bangladesh border in Bilonia subdivision under South Tripura District.
The incident took place on Saturday around 12:30 midnight.
According to the sources, 16 rounds fired by the soldiers of 150 battalion of BSF in the middle of gate number 49-50 of India-Bangladesh border fence in Naya Para area of Amazadnagar.
The BSF did not say anything about the reason behind the sudden firing.
According to the source, BSF fired mainly due to the smuggling trade. However, there is no report of casualties.
