A major accident took place on Thursday in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh.
On the occasion of Ramnavami, the roof of the well built at Sribeleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal Temple in Sneh Nagar, Indore suddenly caved in.
Due to which about 25 people fell in the well. Relief and rescue operations are on to save lives. 13 people have reportedly died in this incident.
At the time of the accident, a havan was going on in the temple on Ram Navami.
It is being told that so far 13 people have been pulled out of the stepwell, including two girls.
Indore Collector Ilaiah Raja gave this information. He said- ‘There will be a judicial inquiry of this matter”.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan spoke to the Indore Collector. The Chief Minister has announced financial assistance for the relatives of the deceased and the injured. 4-4 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased in the accident. At the same time, financial assistance of Rs 50,000 will be given to 20 injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place during the Havan at Sneh Nagar located on Sapna Sangeeta Road. There was a program of Kanya Pujan, so there was a lot of crowd in the temple. More than 30 people were sitting on the terrace of the stepwell. That’s why its roof broke due to excessive weight. People fell down 40 feet. This temple is about 60 years old.
