The bandh called by student wing of TIPRA Motha, TSF demanding Roman script in the Kokborok language failed to make any impact in the capital Agartala but it had a wide impact in several parts of the state of Tripura.
The strike continued from 6 am till 6 pm on Monday.
Strike makes impact in Madhav Bari area, Champak Nagar, Chandra Sadhupara, Jirania in the state.
Apart from this strike gets response in Hataikatar i.e Baramura, Hejamara, Bishramganj and Manughat area.
The 12-hour tripura bandh called by TSF had a huge impact in the entire Gandachhara sub-division.
From the transport system to offices , shops were completely closed in the entire Gandachhara sub-division under Dhalai district of Tripura.
On the day of strike the road has been blocked. Many vehicles are being blocked. Starting from government employees, common people faces trouble. Many people could not go to the office due to the strike.
On this day, the picketers of TSF blocked the national highway in Dewanbazar area of Bisramganj. They demonstrated by burning tires. Heavy police and paramilitary forces have been deployed at the spot to bring the situation under control.
Besides, the picketers demonstrated gheraoing the police car in Baramura. The picketers clashed with the police. Extreme chaos erupted on that time. The police later arrested the picketers.
Notably The Tipra Students Federation has called for a 12-hour Tripura strike on Monday demanding the use of Roman letters in Kokborok language.
The strike was supported by the RKSC organization. earlier many movements had been organized in this regard.
“Deputation was placed before governor of the state and to the chief minister also. But no action was taken by them. As a result, it has been called for the complete success of the 12-hour Tripura Bandh” said the Tipra Students’ Federation.
