Sudden Storm Caused Widespread Damage: Tripura Power Minister

Sudden storm on Friday caused widespread damage across the state. Electricity has been the most damaged. Power supply was disrupted at various places. 

Ratan Lal Nath, the minister of the power department, informed about this in a press conference in state Civil Secretariat on Saturday.

Speaking in the press conference he said:

“The state has 23 electricity divisions and 79 sub-divisions. The number of polls is over 13 lakhs. There are ST, LT and ELT poles”

“The line has 52,000 km. The number of transformers is eighteen thousand”

“As many as 577 poles were damaged by the storm on Friday. 337 km of line has been torn. 600 meters of EST line has been torn. 97 transformers are destroyed”

“Normalization of services under wartime condition is underway. So far, 60 percent of power lines have been repaired in Jampuijala Division. About 70 percent work has been completed in Jirania, Bishalgarh, Sonamura, Bilonia, Bagafa, Kumarghat, Kanchanpur, Khowai, divisions. Some problems that arose in Udaipur have been asked to be solved quickly”

“1417 complaints have been filed in the city. 439 are in progress. The staff of the office and corporation are working diligently”

Minister Ratan Lal Nath urged people from all parts to come forward and help during natural disasters. 

He also said that financial arrangements are being made for the required number of workers and vehicles and parts.
