Teachers Should Be Engaged In School Work Only: TET Teachers’ Welfare Association of Tripura

TET Teachers’ Welfare Association of Tripura protests the engagement of school teachers in other department’s work.

Ajay Pal, Secretary of the organization highlighted this in a press conference at Agartala Press Club on Tuesday.

Speaking in the press conference he said:

“Over the past month, many teachers have left the school and are serving as booth level officers. This makes the classrooms empty. This impacts on the students. The more responsibility should be given to the school work by keeping teachers away from BLO work. Thus the future of students will be brighter”

However, on this day, he basically said that they have to work with a fixed salary. The Tripura TET Teacher’s Welfare Association demanded the removal of the policy introduced by the previous Left government.

He demanded to change the anti-teacher-employee policy.

The organization expressed hope that under the leadership of the present Chief Minister, TET teachers will get their due respect. They will be regularized.

He also said that there is confusion among the teachers of the NPS recruitment. TET One, TET Two who are SGT, STGT are not getting job from the beginning. They have to appear in the court.

He said that those who came to TET teaching after studying Special B.Ed are not being given the opportunity to do regular work despite the five years and despite the court orders.

The Secretary said, 13 days earned leave has been arranged for college teachers who have handled various important duties including control room during Corona. Allegedly, other teachers were not given this honor from the education department.
