A Hindu temple was attacked with a rocket launcher on Sunday morning in Kashmore, Sindh in Pakistan.
The attackers also fired indiscriminately at the temple and the houses of the Hindu community in the vicinity.
Police reached the spot after hearing the sound of gunshots. By then the attackers fled.
This is the second incident of vandalism in a Hindu temple in Pakistan in 48 hours.
Earlier, a 150-year-old Hindu temple was demolished in Karachi on Friday night. Local people said that a bulldozer was fired at the Mari Mata temple in the night. At that time there was no electricity in the area.
Police officials said that the temple was closed during the attack on Sunday, so there was not much damage.
The attackers also attacked the houses of the people of the Hindu community living near the temple.
According to the initial investigation, the attackers were 8 to 9 people. The police is running a search operation to trace them. The temple opens every year for religious services organized by the Bagdi community, reports Dawn.
People of Karachi told- On Friday night some people brought bulldozers and destroyed the entire temple from inside except the outer walls and main gate of Mari Mata Temple.
According to the report of the Pakistani news paper Dawn, when the temple was being demolished, the police were deployed to provide security to those who destroyed the temple.
This Mari Mata Mandir is located on Mukhi Chohitram Road. From which Soldier Bazar Police Station is also at a short distance. According to media reports, the temple land has been sold to a shopping plaza promoter for Rs 7 crore.
That is why the temple was demolished. In June 2022 also, idols of deities were broken in the Mari Mata temple.
