Tipra Motha activists of Killa area locked the Killa block office on Wednesday protesting corruption and resolve their demand for village committee elections and other issues.
In the name of deputation, Moth workers locked the block gate at 12 noon.
On receiving the information about the incident, Additional District Magistrate Sumit Lodh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jayanta Bhattacharya, Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate Raju Deb rushed to Killa Block and held a meeting in the room of Killa Block BDO David Hallam.
Motha activists demanded to stop corruption in REGA work, change of present Killa Block Chairman and change of ADC Village conveners.
For a long time they protested by hanging the locks.
After three hours, they withdrew their protest after receiving the assurance from the administration
