In a twist to the ongoing cold war over seat sharing between BJP and IPFT, partners in the state’s coalition government, the IPFT delegates submits memorandum yesterday night, to the BJP national secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda demanding 22 seats out of altogether 28 seats in the upcoming ADC election. The Central IPFT delegations led by Mevar Kr Jamatia, Minister for Tribal Welfare and Forest, Govt. of Tripura and General Secretary of IPFT met with the Home Secretary, Govt. of India and, along with J PNadda National President, BJP and submitted memorandum with 6 (six) points charter of demands and also discussed on the creation of Tipraland, inclusion of Kokborok in the VIII Schedule of the Constitution, Early passage of 125th Constitutional (Amendment) Bill etc. “Both of them have assured to take appropriate actions on the issues placed before them. We are hopeful that our demands be fulfilled immediately for the welfare of the indigenous people of Tripura. Our fight for Tipraland shall continue without cease and all our party members are ever ready to fight for this constitutional right to the highest level.” after meeting said Mevar kr jamatia in his social media platform.
