Two girl children drowned in Sarma river. They are identified as Shantimala Chakma, age 12 and Sima Chakma, age 7.
The incident took place in Brishaketu Para of Gandachhara sub-division under Dhalai District. The incident happened on Saturday afternoon.
According to the report Shanti Mala Chakma and Sima Chakma cross the Sarma river from one end to the other in search of vegetables.
But on the way back with the vegetables, the accident took place.
While crossing the river both Shanti Mala Chakma and Sima Chakma drowned in the river.
Information was given to the fire department of Gandachhara sub-division.
The fire department personnel rushed and started searching.
But the body of the two children yet to recovered as the report came in till Sunday Morning.
