Tripura: 7 Leftist Organization To Hold Raj Bhavan Abhiyan For Dalit Rights

Raj Bhavan Abhiyan will be organized on November 23 on 17 point demands including Dalit rights and social justice.

This Raj Bhavan Abhiyan will be organized by the joint initiative of 7 leftist organizations including Tripura Tapashili Jati Samannay Samiti (Tripura Scheduled Tribes Coordinating Association) Tripura Farm Labor Union.

Sudhan Das, the leader of the Tripura Scheduled Tribes Coordinating Association, mentioned details on this in a press conference organized at the Ambedkar Bhavan at Melarmath on Saturday.

He said, in the 76th year of India’s independence, Dalits, Scheduled Tribes, tribals are facing terrible misery and discrimination.

“Constitution of India drafted by Dr. BR Ambedkar is under attack today. In 9 years of the BJP led government, the situation has become dire. Therefore, for the overall development of Scheduled Castes, policy changes and demands related to Scheduled Caste interest should be implemented” he said.

“In particular, statutory legislation should be made for them in the central and state budgets to ensure allocation of necessary funds in proportion to the population of Scheduled Tribes sub-planes and expenditure for the development of people of Scheduled Tribes. Apart from this, need-based residential schools should be established for scheduled students. Employment and Education Reserved posts shall not be abolished in any case. Reservation in promotion shall be strictly observed. The leftist organizations will go to the governor with these demands” he added.
