Tripura: Adwaita Mallabarman’s 110th Birth Anniversary Celebrated

Adwaita Mallabarman’s 110th birth anniversary is celebrated on Sunday. The day is celebrated by the initiative of the Tripura Tapashili Jati Samannay Samiti.

The organization’s general secretary and MLA Sudhan Das and former minister Ratan Bhowmik and other leaders were present in the main program held at Ambedkar Bhavan, Agartala.

Speaking in the Program MLA Bhowmik said:

“Late Minister Anil Sarkar took the initiative to bring Adwaita Mallabarman to the people. The government decided to hold a three-day program every year in Melaghar. This is to highlight his contribution. Adwaita Mallabarman collected the life experiences of the people of fishermen section. He left his studies for financial reasons and moved to Calcutta. Adwaita Mallabarman died of illness in a short period of time. ‘Titus, ekti nadiŕ naam’ was published after his death. Which later became a movie”

“But the current government is celebrating his birthday to cheat people.  The current government celebrates this birthday to spend money keeping people away without life. The celebration is done in a calm manner.  This politics is being done to get votes”. 

Meanwhile, the general secretary Sudhan Das claimed that the government has become an obstacle to move the backward people forward. 

Das claimed that the government has launched an attack on them in all aspects including education, economy.
