Tripura: Ahead Of Assembly Elections One More BJP MLA Resigned


Tripura BJP MLA Diba Chandra Hrangkhawl has resigned from his post on Wednesday. 

On this day, he went to the State Legislative Assembly with the letter of resignation. 

He handed over the resignation letter without giving any reason. 

Congress leader Ashish Kumar Saha, Baptu Saha, Prashanta Bhattacharya were with him.

He was the MLA of 48 Karmachhara Assembly Constituency. 

Hrangkhawl (66), who was elected to the state Assembly four times since 1988, after submitting his resignation letter, told the media that he has quit the party and the membership of the Assembly on personal grounds.

He also said that he has done good work in the last 59 months in BJP, but he could not remains in the party because there was no suitable atmosphere at the end. 

However, he told reporters that he has not yet made a final decision about which party he is going to join. 

With the presence of former Congress MLAs and other leaders, it is believed that he has submitted his resignation letter to go to Congress. 

Although he later denied the matter, and said that Sudip Roy Burman, Ashish Kumar Saha are his friends.

Notably The Election Commission of India will make an immediate announcement after the final voter list publication on January 5. 

And at this moment, another MLA has left the BJP, which has made the ruling BJP camp worried. 

In the last five years successive MLAs have either left the saffron camp and allied parties to join the Congress or Tipra Matha. 

Ashish Das, Sudip Roy Burman, Ashish Kumar Saha, Brishaketu Tripura, Mebar Kumar Jamatia, and after Dhananjay Tripura, now Diba Chandra Hrangkhawl has resigned.
