The Tripura Cabinet has decided to increase the allowance of Asha workers under the Department of Health and Family Welfare by Rs 1000 .
Minister of Information and Culture Sushanta Chowdhury announced this decision of the cabinet meeting in a press conference held at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
He said that a total of 7, 767 Asha Workers of the state will be benefited from this.
In a press conference, the Minister of Information and Culture while informing about some other decisions in the cabinet meeting said that the allowance of cook cum helpers attached to the mid-day meal of the entire state has been increased from Rs 1500 to 2500 .
He said that the decision to increase the allowance of pump operators appointed under the drinking water and sanitation department by Rs 2300 and the salary allowance of pump operators appointed under the Rural development and panchayat department by Rs 2490 has been taken in the cabinet meeting.
He said that under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the monthly pension of home guards has been increased from Rs 750 to Rs 2500.
Besides, it has been decided to increase the salary of working home guards by Rs 1000 . As a result, their current salary will be Rs 19,140.
Information and Culture Minister said in the press conference that it has been decided to establish Aryabhatta International University in North Tripura district. 34 new posts has been created under Tripura Judicial Academy.
He said that 16 election inspectors will be recruited under the Election Department. It has been decided to include 25 more schools in the state under Vidyajyoti scheme.
He said that 32 teaching and non-teaching posts have been created in MBB University. The daily boarding stipend of the students who are studying under the SC-ST Welfare Department has been increased from Rs 65 to 80.
He said that Tripura Power Transmission Company Limited will be opened under Tripura Rajya Bidyut Unyan Nigam Limited to facilitate transmission work. They will work on power transmission up to 33 KV.
He also said that in today’s cabinet meeting, 5 more people from the families of those who were killed politically have been offered jobs.
In a press conference, Social Welfare and Social Education Department Secretary Tapas Roy said that the honorary allowance of 9, 911 Anganwadi workers and 9, 911 Anganwadi helpers of the state has been increased to Rs 600 and Rs 700 respectively.
The Minister of Information and Culture said in the press conference in response to a question of the journalists that 1, 271 people have been given jobs through die-in-harness after the formation of the present government.
