According to administrative rules, an all-party meeting was held on Tuesday at the office of the Bishalgarh Sub-division Police Officer.
The meeting was held ahead of the 2023 assembly elections. Bishalgarh sub-divisional police officer Rahul Das, Bishalgarh police station OC Badal Saha, Swathganj police station OC Bimal Debnath, Madhupur police station OC and Bishalgarh police station OC Swarnlata Debbarma along with leaders of all political parties of Bishalgarh sub-division were present in the meeting.
But in the meeting on this day, the leaders of the opposition political parties raised questions about the role of the police.
“If the police perform their duties for the ruling party, then let it be said that the workers of the opposition party will no longer do politics. Because of the recent political murder that took place in Charilam Bazar, the family members filed a case against 52 people including the local mandal president. Police arrested only two of them. However, the police sent the two accused to jail instead of remand. So, if the police submits such a weak charge sheet, where is the role of neutrality?” opposition party leaders questioned.
They also said that after the clash between CPIM and BJP that day, Congress leaders were put in jail on false charges. Such role of police is very sad.
The opposition leaders said to pay attention to such matters very seriously.
Anyway, on this day, there was a discussion between the police and various political parties to complete the upcoming assembly elections properly.
But the opposition political parties think that it is difficult to say how peaceful the environment will be. Because the role of the police has created a lot of anger among the opposition political parties.
In the last one and a half months Bishalgarh sub-division has witnessed political murders, political abductions and in the last 24 hours the houses and business establishments of opposition parties have been set on fire.
“But the police yet to arrest the miscreants of the ruling party” alleged the opposition.
