Tripura: Billal Miah Quits Congress. To Join BJP Today

,

Billal Miah, a former minister in the Tripura Congress-TUGS coalition government, quit the Congress.

According to the report he will join the BJP party by holding the hand of CM Manik Saha.

Earlier the jumbo team of BJP reached Billal Mia’s house in Durgapur after the nomination submission process of the ruling party for the by-election to be held on September 5.

The jumbo team included BJP’s Union State Minister Pratima Bhowmik, Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath, Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Fisheries Minister Sudhanshu Das, Mayor Dipak Majumdar and a bunch of BJP leaders.

The meeting was held at his home. All decisions were made in that meeting. At the end of the meeting, the leaders exchanged the customary words of courtesy, but the future direction of Billal Miah’s politics was already decided.

As soon as the next process was completed, he sent his resignation letter to party’s all-India president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday.

In his resignation letter, he wrote, Congress party is my house and I have worked for the party for 44 years.

Meanwhile, after Billal Miah left the party, Tripura Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha ordered his expulsion from the Congress for six years .

It may be noted that since the removal of Birjit Sinha from the post of Pradesh Congress President and the appointment of Ashish Kumar Saha as the President, there has been fresh turmoil in the State Congress.

Even earlier some have left the Congress and joined the BJP. MLA Birjit Sinha is also singing the opposite tune.

This time, the long-time soldier of the party left the party. Billal Miah wad one of the minority leaders of Sipahijla district of the Congress party. He still has considerable influence in Boxanagar. From this seat, he won and became a minister in 1988.

By-elections will be held in Boxanagar and Dhanpur on September 5. When all the opposition parties are demanding to unite to defeat the ruling BJP in this by-election, the ruling BJP is playing a different game.

Saffron camp is strengthening itself by breaking the opposition . Billal Miah will start a new innings of politics by holding the Chief Minister’s hand in the election rally to be organized at Kulubari school ground on Thursday at 3 pm.
