On the occasion of the 124th birth anniversary of Rebel Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, a tribute program was organized at Nazrul Kalakshetra on Friday.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha along with corporator and officials of Information Culture Department were present on the occasion.
Everyone paid tribute to the statue of Kazi Nazrul Islam. Speaking in the program organized later, the Chief Minister said that we know Kazi Nazrul Islam as a rebel poet. Because he influenced freedom fighters against the British.
He said that Kazi Nazrul Islam is relevant even today. The Chief Minister also said that Kazi Nazrul Islam’s songs, poetry and dramas have a common feeling in everything. So birth anniversary of Kazi Nazrul is being celebrated in every subdivision across the state today.
The Chief Minister also said that the government wants to move ahead with the vision of Kazi Nazrul Islam. And the poet’s thought is still researched today.
The chief minister said the poet may not be with us physically today, but he is present in our memories and thoughts.
