Tripura celebrates 49th statehood day on Thursday with colourful programs and multiple events. All important buildings including Ujjayanta Palace, Raj Bhawan, and Civil Secretariat were decorated with colourful lights and traditional looks. Prime Minister has greated the people of Tripura on the statehood day. The main program was celebrated at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan where Governor Ramesh Bais, CM Biplab Kr Deb, Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma, and revenue minister NC Debbarma addressed the people of Tripura. Tripura, initially a category ‘C’ state post-merger in 1949 and a Union Territory since November 1956 had become a full-fledged state with effect from 21st January 1972. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb attended a ‘Sadbhavna Yatra Programme’ organized by the Yuba Vikash Kendra at Ujjayanta Palace. CM said that Tripura is witnessing a new era of progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
