October 31 is the death anniversary of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. On this occasion, the party flag was hoisted at the Tripura Pradesh Congress Bhavan on Tuesday morning.
Then the State Congress leadership paid tribute by placing wreaths on the portrait of Indira Gandhi.
State Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, who was present, said that today is the 39th death anniversary of the country’s first woman prime minister, Indira Gandhi.
“On the instructions of the National Congress, the day is observed by the State Congress as Sacrifice Day. Because Indira Gandhi sacrificed herself to preserve the unity of the country. The people of the country have not been able to erase this stigma from their minds. And today is the day to take oath inspired by patriotism” said Saha.
Various programs have been undertaken by the Congress on this day. on behalf of the Congress blood donation camps and distribution of fruits to patients in hospitals etc program has been organized.
Later, Pradesh Congress President and MLA Gopal Roy visited the Shaheed Bedi at Gandhighat and paid tributes to Indira Gandhi.
