Lenin’s 154th birth anniversary was celebrated by Tripura CPIM on Saturday.
The main program was organized in Agartala Town hall.
CPIM Polit Bureau member Manik Sarkar, State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury, senior leader Aghore Debbarma, Narayan Kar Rama Das, Tapan Chakraborty were present in the program.
Speaking in the program Manik Sarkar said:
The Russian Revolution took place in 1917 under the leadership of Marxist thinker Lenin. The Marxist ideas of Lenin, the founder of the Russian Communist Party (Bolshevik Party), are known as ‘Leninism’.
During that time there was a lot of anger in the hearts of the people about the world war. After that the people of the Bolshevik camp came out against the government.
Slowly the Bolsheviks started occupying government buildings. In this way the Bolsheviks came to power. It was the Russian Revolution, which changed the future of Russia and the Bolsheviks came to power and Vladimir Lenin came to power.
Lenin pointed out that the dictatorship of the workers is actually a true democracy for the majority of the people. Their main work is not pressure or coercion but organizational and educational work.
In the three years 1928-20 of military interventions and civil strife by foreign countries, Lenin guided the Soviet people to resolutely fight the foreign invaders and counter-revolutionaries. This led to the establishment of the Soviet Union in 1922.
He is considered one of the greatest revolutionaries in history.
