Tripura CPIM Demands Investigation Of ‘Canvas Bag Scam’

“The ruling party BJP is promoting itself through canvas bags at a cost of Rs 6.5 crore giving gifts to the people of the state on Durga Puja festival. The BJP government is trying to cover up its failure by paying people’s money”

CPIM Tripura State Secretary and MLA Jitendra Choudhury criticized the ruling party BJP in a press conference .

He sarcastically said that if the opposition government was in power in Tripura today, ED and CBI would have reached the door by now.

Mr. Choudhury said that recently the state government has taken a decision that you can buy various things including mustard oil from the fair price shop at a cheap price. Besides, canvas bags will be provided for customers to carry the products to home. But it has been seen that the much publicized festival gift is completely opposite to the government’s statement. Moreover, common people are reacting strongly when the real picture emerges.

Choudhury also said the ruling party BJP is trying to cover up their failure by giving false and misleading information in the atmosphere of joy in the whole state. Ministers and Prime Ministers are promoting themselves by paying people’s money.

CPIM State Secretary also claimed that there is a complete scam in making this canvas bag at a cost of Rs 6.5 crore . People’s money has been squandered.

Therefore, the CPiM has demanded an investigation into the actual market price of the canvas bags.
