A passenger started trying to open the gate of the flight before landing, due to which the people present there got scared.
According to the report on September 21 (Thursday), a passenger tried to open the front door of an IndiGo flight from Guwahati to Agartala. Tripura Police arrested that person.
According to the police, the name of the accused is Biswajit Debnath and he is a resident of East Agartala.
A senior police officer in Agartala said that the accused Biswajit Debnath was traveling from Hyderabad to Agartala via Guwahati on seat number 1D of Indigo 6E457. When the flight was about to land, the accused suddenly ran towards the door and started trying to open it.
However, the flight crew member stopped him at the right time.
According to the report, when Biswajit Debnath moved forward to open the flight gate an air hostess noticed him.
The air hostess immediately caught the accused and pulled him back with the help of other passengers. After this, the accused started misbehaving with the crew member and repeatedly tried to go ahead to open the gate.
According to the police officer, the angry passengers beat the accused badly inside the flight, due to which he got injured.
In Agartala, CISF jawans along with Indigo staff rescued the accused in a critical condition and later handed him over to the airport police station.
According to the police, the accused was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him out of danger. Also told that he is a drug addict.
Police said that during the scuffle in the flight, crew leader Chandrima Chakraborty and her colleague Manish Jindal were also injured.
