Tripura Elections: ‘Mission Zero Poll Violence’ Launched

Assembly elections to be announced within 15 to 20 days. Hence Mission 929 and Mission Zero Poll Violence was launched on Saturday by the initiative of Chief Electoral Office to ensure the peaceful completion of the upcoming elections. 

Chief Secretary JK Rao inaugurated the program in the capital Agartala. State Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte, Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan and others were present in the program of the day.

 

 The mission includes various matters including making all arrangements for the administration and security forces to prevent any kind of election-related terror. 

During the visit of the delegation of the National Election Commission to the state, all matters of election are placed before them. 

On December 14, a review meeting was held on the upcoming elections of three states. The mission is designed to address two major challenges.

“Law and order has improved in every election. After that some things happen. It’s better if they don’t. Therefore, this initiative has been taken as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India” said the State Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte.
