Tripura: Govt Issues Notification For More Liquor License

On the one hand, the slogan of Neshamukti. On the other hand the government has issued a notification to grant more license of country and foreign liquor.

A notification in this regard has been issued to the customs department in the month of Sharad Utsav.

The customs department has invited tenders for licenses of 113 liquor shops. Of these, the customs department has called for tenders for the license of 69 foreign liquor shops and 44 desi liquor shops.

The government is going to distribute licenses in 27 new areas.

Soon after the BJP-IPFT coalition government came to power in the state, the sale hours of liquor shops were extended till 11 pm. Also removes weekly closures.

Meanwhile an order has been issued to close fast food shops in city Agartala by eleven o’clock at night.

In 2020, the government has given licenses to more than 100 new liquor shops. Liquor shop licenses are being extended in large numbers this time too.

Licensing process to open liquor shops has started. Extended rural areas will not be left out this time either. Arrangements are being made to distribute licenses in many rural market areas.

The state government has even decided to revive the languishing liquor licences.

Tripura has come to the first row after surpassing Punjab, Goa, Chhattisgarh in alcohol consumption. Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh have the highest alcohol consumption in the country.

Alcohol consumption is 35 percent higher in Tripura than National Average. In a case in the Supreme Court, the central government has given the information in this regard last year. According to the survey, 16 crore people drink alcohol in the country. Among them 5.7 crores are addicted to alcohol. Alcohol consumption is high in the Tripura.
