A Tripura minister has been accused of willful concealment and fraud in the nomination papers for the assembly polls held on February last.
47-year-old Tinku Roy, who is currently the labor minister of the state, won as a BJP candidate from Chandipur Assembly constituency under Unakoti district.
His rival in that constituency was Tipra Motha candidate and former BJP leader Ranjan Sinha.
Sinha held a press conference in Agartala. According to his complaint, Tinku Roy had mentioned in his nomination paper that he had passed Higher Secondary in 2004 from ‘Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Bharat Gwalior’.
Ranjan claims that there is no recognized Board of Secondary Education in this name.
Ranjan said that it has also come up in the CBI investigation on the orders of the Allahabad High Court.
Ranjan Sinha claimed that the Assam government dismissed the employees on the basis of this fake board certificate on the order of the High Court.
Ranjan said that Tinku Roy had mentioned ‘no criminal case’ against him in the nomination paper.
According to Ranjan, this is completely false. His claim, a criminal case is pending against Tinku, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
Ranjan Babu claims that Tinku Roy has no qualification to be MLA and Minister. He requested to take swift action against him.
