Panchali Bhattacharya, wife of former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, was seriously injured after being hit by a car.
The incident happened on Saturday. She is currently undergoing treatment at GB Hospital Trauma Center.
According to the details of the incident, Panchali Bhattacharya, the former chief minister and opposition leader Manik Sarkar, met with an accident while returning by rickshaw after the party program in Mantri Bari Road area of the capital Agartala.
A car rammed into the rickshaw coming from behind in the Mantri Bari Road area.
Panchali Bhattacharya fell from the rickshaw. She suffered severe head injuries.
Immediately she was rescued and first taken to IGM Hospital. From there she was transferred to GBP Hospital.
Panchali Bhattacharya, wife of the opposition leader, is currently undergoing treatment in GBP hospital.
Doctors uses several stitches to close the wounds on her head. CT scan and x-ray has been done.
According to the last report physical condition of Bhattachaya is stable.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha wishes speedy recovery of Panchali Bhattacharya. On the other hand opposition leader Manik Sarkar and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman with his wife visited GBP Hospital and meets Panchali Bhattacharya.
Notably Panchali Bhattacharya is an active member of CITU.
