December 19 is the martyrdom day of Ramprasad Bismil and Asfaqullah Khan of the uncompromising line of Indian freedom movement.
AIDSO, AIDYO and AIMSS jointly observed this day in Battala area of the capital Agartala on Monday.
The president of the organization Mridul Kanti Sarkar, Bhabatosh Dey and Shibani Das respectively placed wreaths at the martyr’s altar.
AIDSO State Secretary Ramprasad Acharya said that these two great revolutionaries have set a vivid example that the independence movement has cost their blood. But even after 75 years of independence, the ruling class of the country is not presenting the true history of independence to the public.
“Using patriotism only for the sake of votes” he said.
Therefore, on this dark day, he called for creating an atmosphere of communal harmony across the country by learning from the lives of these two great revolutionaries.
