The 117th birth anniversary of legendary Hindi and Bengali language composer of the country , singer Sachin Deb Burman was celebrated in capital Agartala.
Sachin Deb Burman’s birthday was celebrated on Sunday (October 1) by the initiative of Information and Culture Department of Tripura Government.
Chief Minister of the state Dr Manik Saha inaugurated the program by placing wreaths and lighting lamps at the bust of Sachin Dev Burman at the mango tree in front of the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan n the capital.
Speaking in the program CM said:
“Legendary musician, melody emperor Kumar Sachin Debbarman was a shining star in the music world. He brought the cultural heritage of our country and state to international level. His contribution to the music world will remain forever memorable.”
“Despite being a son of the royal family, Sachin Deb Burman used to spent day after day with boatmen on the river to listen th tune of folk songs. Later he went to Kolkata and Mumbai and gained special fame and became known as Sachin Karta“
Every year the state government celebrateSachin Karta’s birthday with due dignity. His son Rahul Deb Burman was also a famous music composer and singer.
