Salary of teaching staff engaged in Samagra Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) of Tripura remained uncertain even during the festive month.
The teachers of the SSA yet to get their salaries for the month of September. The department is not able to tell when the salary will be received.
This has led to disappointment before the festival.
“Before coming to power in 2018, the leaders of the current ruling party cried for these teachers and staff of SSA. At that time, BJP also won the support of a section of them by showing the lure of equal pay in same work. Regularization of all contractual employees was also promised” said Subarna Das, a SSA Teacher.
“”But the ruling party shows its true face while sitting in power. While the rest of the teaching staff of the state government got 20 per cent DA in three installments during these five and a half years, the teaching staff of the SSA got a salary hike of Rs 1,000 for graduates and only Rs 800 for undergraduates. In all other cases, the teachers and staff of SSA are being deprived” He said.
“Now even monthly salary is uncertain. Even after the 6th of October, the salary is not received” said Smriti Saha, another SSA teacher.
