Two TSR battalions posted on duty outside Tripura are being brought back while two others are going out to their places again.
This exchange program will start from the first week of October and the official order in this regard has been issued .
As per the decision taken by the authority, the exchange program is to be completed at the earliest keeping in view the upcoming festival season and Lok Sabha elections early next year.
Official sources said the two TSR battalions that are being brought back to the state are the 9th and 3rd battalions.
The 9th Battalion is currently deployed in the state of Chhattisgarh to provide security to the coal mines under Coal India Limited.
From now on, the 9th battalion will be replaced by the 1st battalion which will be sent there from the state.
The third battalion, which is currently in charge of maintaining law and order in Delhi, will be replaced by the second battalion which will be sent there.
Sources said that according to the guidelines issued in March 2021, there will be a reshuffle in the battalions performing duty inside and outside the state every three years.
The current process will have to be completed by December 15 this year. Police sources said that the headquarters of the 9th battalion is in Sachirambari area of South Tripura district and the news of the battalion’s early return has excited the people around the 9th battalion headquarters.
On the other hand, the 3rd battalion will be based at its headquarters at Kachuchera in Kamalpur subdivision under Dhalai district on return and this news has also brought joy to the hearts of the people.
