Undertrial Prisoner Died In Central Correctional Home, Bishalgarh

On July 14, the wife of Babul Das, a resident of AD Nagar Thana area, died of burns. After this incident, a case was filed against Babul Das from the deceased’s father’s house. 

Accordingly, the police arrested Babul Das and handed him over to the court. Babul Das was in the custody of the court by the orders of the court. Babul Das was kept in Bishalgarh Central Correctional Home.

According to the the statement of Babul Das’s nephew he was informed that Babul Das was ill and was being taken to the Bishalgarh Sub-District Hospital. 

Accordingly, Babul Das’s nephew and family members rushed to Bishalgarh sub-divisional hospital.

They went to the Bisalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital and found the body of Babul Das lying there. Babul Das had injuries on his head. There are blood stains on the nose, mouth and ears. 

Babul Das’s nephew questioned why Babul Das died in the Central Correctional Home despite strict security measures. 

Meanwhile, the doctor on duty at the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital said that Babul Das died before being brought to the hospital. 

The staff of the Central Correctional Facility who brought Babul Das said that Babul Das collapsed while coming down the stairs. The dead body has injury marks on the head and blood stains on the nose, mouth and ears.

 He further informed that since Babul Das is an undertrial prisoner, brought from jail, therefore, the autopsy of his dead body will be conducted at GBP Hospital. 

After the legal process, the body will be sent to GB Hospital. 

Now the question is how an undertrial accused died in the Central Correctional home. How did this happen despite tight security at the Central Correctional Home?
