Union Home Minister Amit Shah Holds High-Level Meeting Regarding Mega Crackdown On PFI

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting with officials including NSA, Home Secretary, DG NIA regarding NIA raid on PFI. 

Multiple agencies led by the NIA on Thursday morning conducted simultaneous raids in 11 states and arrested 106 Popular Front of India (PFI) activists allegedly involved in financing terrorism in the country.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday morning raided the premises of Popular Front of India (PFI) in several states.

Raids have been conducted in other states including Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in a massive crackdown against PFI. 

According to information received from government sources, more than 100 top PFI leaders and office bearers have been arrested in the nationwide raids. 

The raids were conducted by the NIA, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the state police in a coordinated move.

Earlier on September 18, the National Investigation Agency had raided 40 locations of the Popular Front of India on charges of carrying out terrorist activities. 

The agency had taken this action in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. 

There are many allegations against PFI of Kanpur violence, carrying out terrorist activities and spreading hatred on the basis of religion. 

From the CAA agitation in Delhi to the communal violence in Muzaffarnagar, Shamli and Khargone in Madhya Pradesh, it is being claimed to be linked to the PFI.
