There is no water in the house. From the bitter experience, the locals were forced to hold the protest by blocking the road on Wednesday.
It is known that there is acute problem of drinking water in Jubaraj Nagar Gram Panchayat area under Gaurnagar Block of Kailashahar, Unakoti District, Tripura.
Even after several written and verbal reports from the villagers to the officials of the concerned department, no permanent solution has been done for drinking water.
Moreover in Jubaraj Nagar Gram Panchayat Pradhan and Upa Pradhan are absent in the area for a long time. Since the panchayat has no chief and deputy chief for a long time, no development work is being done in the panchayat area, alleged the villagers.
All development work in the panchayat area has been stopped. In this regard, the BDO of Gaurnagar block, Rameshwar Chakraborty, was informed several times by the villagers, but allegedly no role was taken by the block administration.
So on Thursday, the villagers got excited and started protesting by blocking the road of Pax Chowmuhani in Baburbazar.
The besiegers protested making bamboo barricades on three roads of Baburbazar Pax Chowmuhani, blocking the roads and setting fire to car tires.
Local Irani police and TSR forces rushed to the blockade site after receiving information about the road blockade.
The blockaders said that they will continue to block the road until the written assurance is not given by the administration.
