“Will Fight Jointly To Remove BJP” Confirmed Jitendra, Birjit On The Last Day Of Nomination Withdrawal

Alliance between CPIM and Congress to continue according to the agreement of the seat sharing between this two party.

Both CPIM and Congress leaders confirmed this on Thursday i.e last day to withdraw the nomination.

Speaking with the press CPIM Tripura State Secretary Jitendra Choudhury said that:

“People of Tripura want all secular forces to unite to free Tripura from BJP. Therefore, 13 candidates of the Left Front picked up their nomination papers by 3 pm today. The Congress also withdrew its nominations for the additional seats it had filed. Left Front 46, Congress 13 and an independent candidate supported by Left Front are going to fight on compromise basis. So now the main objective is to fulfill the will of the people by participating in the election campaign”.

“There was a discussion with Tipra Motha. But we could not come together due to some internal matters. Tipra Motha aims to utilize the opportunity to defeat the BJP. BJP coming back to power means destroy of the state. So there should be no weakness on the part of the opposition”

On the other hand Pradesh Congress President Birjit Sinha said that there was a strong consensus on the withdrawal of nomination papers. He said that Congress will fight the upcoming assembly elections jointly with CPIM.

Notably Left Front first nominated candidates for 47 constituencies. The remaining 13 seats were left for the Congress.

But later it was seen that Congress announced the names of 17 candidates instead of 13.

They all filed the nomination papers also. Then Left Front also filled nomination in all the 60 seats.

But on Thursday, in the last day to withdraw the nominations both the parties withdrew the nominations according to the seat sharing agreement.
