Instead of constructing roads, the
panchayat authority installed the sign board of the road.
When the villagers protests this incident one of the Panchayat official allegedly threatened the villagers.
Angry villagers than started agitation and blocked the main road of Dharmanagar- Bagbsha road.
The incident took place at ward no 4 of Kameswar Gram Panchayat under Dharmsnagar Subdivision in North Tripura District.
According to the report People of ward number three and four of the village have been demanding a paved road for transportation since long time.
But the complaint is that neither Left nor Ram government takes any step to met their demand.
Even though long years have passed the panchayat authority was silent.,
On Wednesday the Panchayat authority brought a signboard where it was mentioned that the road has been constructed in Paver block at the cost of Rs two lakh 25 thousand 853 instead of doing the road work in that village.
Naturally the villagers become angry and started blocking the main road. In the maintime local MLA Jadab Lal Nath was passing on this road.
Seeing the obstruction he talked with the villagers and inspect the road. Later speaking with the press he said ” The road is not constructed and it is not suitable for traffic movement. I will investigate who has installed the signboard of the completion of the road construction work”
However the villagers threatened that if the road not constructed within three month they will launch a larger movement.
