In a tragic incident, a woman police constable drowned in a pond at Tilakpur village of Kailashahar on Saturday.
The deceased identified as Rupali Sinha was posted at the office of Superintendent of Police, Unakoti district.
The 29-year-old woman, according to local drowned in the pond while teaching swimming to the son of her elder brother brother in law.
She was taken to Unakoti district hospital soon after the incident but the attending doctor declared her brought dead.
The body handed over to the deceased’s family after post-mortem on Sunday.
