Tripura journalists are on road for their constitutional rights and obviously for their safety- security, as head of the government threatened them saying publicly ‘won’t forgive.’ Tripura Assembly Of Journalists to hold a sit in protest program at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan to aware public about this matter. “Some newspapers are trying to confuse people. History will not forgive them, people of Tripura will not forgive them and I Biplab Deb will not forgive them. I do whatever I say, history is testimony to that,” CM Biplab Deb had said this on 11 September at sabroom in a program of SEZ opening ceremony. “After the BJP-IPFT government came to power 30 months ago, 19 journalists were beaten up by hooligans sheltered by the BJP. Right to information and right to freedom of expression are being trampled, said AOJ. Demanding withdrawal of the comments made by the Chief Minister, AOJ already sent a memorandum to the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Information and Broadcasting Minister, Press Council of India and other rights bodies in India and abroad.
