Workshop On ‘Reduce Of Single-Use Plastic’ Held In Agartala

A workshop on reducing the use of single-use plastic carry bags was held on Tuesday at Muktdhara Auditorium under the initiative of Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan and with the support of the Tripura State Pollution Control Board.

Minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the workshop. State Pollution Control Board Chairman KS Sheth, Vice President of Management Committee of Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan Dr. Dilip Das and others were present in the workshop.

Speaking in the program Minister Singha Roy said:

“Reduce the use of single-use plastics. It is very important for environment and nature. The navigability of the river is decreasing. Agartala city gets waterlogged only when it rains. As the navigability of the Howrah river has decreased, it has become difficult to supply water”.

“In the coming days it will take more terrible shape. We have to get out of this situation. The government has adopted a master plan to restore the navigability of the river Howrah. But everyone has to take responsibility in this case”
