Worst September: 41% of Covid cases & 34% of deaths Registered In India

September turned out to be the worst period for the country during the pandemic, accounting for the highest number of deaths in any month. India added 41% of covid19 cases & 34% of covid19 deaths in September. With 1,173 fresh deaths on Wednesday, the kast day of September, India’s Covid-19 toll went up to 98,628. As many as 33,255 of these deaths — or 33.7% of the total casualties — were recorded in September. This surpassed the previous worst month, August, when 28,859 deaths were recorded. July accounted for 19,122 deaths and June and May for 11,988 and 4,267 casualties, respectively. India’s Covid-19 caseload went beyond the 63-lakh mark to 63,06,802, when 86,768 fresh cases added on Wednesday . September accounted for more than 41% of the caseload with 26,24,179 new infections. In contrast, 19,87,705 cases were recorded in the August, the previous worst month. On Wednesday, the last day of September, Central government announced unlock 5.0.
