A youth named Nandu Sarkar was beaten to death in broad daylight on June 29 on suspicion of cow theft in Baldakhal area in Capital Agartala.
In view of that incident, a case of murder was registered at the East Agartala Police Station.
After three long months of police investigation, the main accused Biplab Das alias Bishnu, who was involved in the murder case, has been arrested on Wednesday .
“The accused has been handed over to the court seeking police remand” said West Agartala Police Such łtation OC Rana Chatterjee.
On June 29, Nandu Sarkar (40) was beaten to death in broad daylight at Baldakhal Bridge area. After being taken to the hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased’s wife Sonali Dey Sarkar alleged that her husband was beaten to death by calling him a cow thief.
Moreover, the deceased’s brother said that Nandu was known as an animal lover in that area. He was never involved in any anti-social activities. He was beaten to death.
In view of that incident Sonali Deb Sarkat filed a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code at East Agsrtaladpolice station.
Immediately, the police took over the case and started investigation. During the police investigation, they arrested three youths from Baldakhal area involved in the murder. But the police could not arrest the main accused involved in the murder case. He was on the run for three long months.
In this regard, East police station OC Rana Chatterjee said that a youth named Nandu Sarkar was beaten to death in broad daylight on June 29 on suspicion of cow theft. Four accused have been arrested so far. But so far the real reason for the murder has not been revealed . Today they wee handed over to the court asking for police remand.
Because the initial idea of the police is that more than one person is involved in the murder.
