Mega Legal Settlement Drive Across Tripura on May 9

The second National Lok Adalat of the year will be held across Tripura on May 9, covering the premises of the Tripura High Court along with all district and sub-divisional courts in the state.

A total of 25,514 cases are scheduled for disposal through 46 benches during the Lok Adalat. Among them, 20,779 are long-pending court cases, while 4,735 are pre-litigation disputes.

According to official information, the cases listed for settlement include 347 motor accident compensation matters, 197 matrimonial disputes, 4,485 bank loan recovery cases, 250 BSNL bill-related disputes and 20,184 compoundable criminal cases.

Apart from these, the Lok Adalat will also take up 27 cheque bounce cases, five civil matters, five arbitration disputes, three commercial suits and 11 employment-related cases.

A special bench of the Tripura High Court will hear 28 cases during the National Lok Adalat. Notices have already been issued to all parties concerned.

The Tripura State Legal Services Authority stated that Justice Amarnath Gaur, Executive Chairman of the authority, has issued necessary directions to ensure the smooth conduct of the National Lok Adalat.

Member-Secretary of the authority, V.P. Debbarma, appealed to litigants and all concerned parties to take advantage of the platform for speedy, simple and cost-free settlement of disputes.
