80.32% Voter Turnout Till 8 PM. Voting Going on In 20 Booths: CEO Tripura

Tripura reported 80.32% voter turnout till 8 pm on Friday. Addressing a press conference on Friday night Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura informed it. Speaking on this matter he also said that in 20 polling stations there were voters line at 8 pm. So the total voter turnout to be increased slightly.

Meanwhile voting for the East Tripura Lok Sabha seat was held on Friday. Voting starts from 7 am. Barring a few isolated incidents, polling was conducted peacefully. 

East Tripura Lok Sabha constituency has a total of 13,96,761 voters. Among them 11,012 Divyang voters. There are 8,942 voters above 85 years of age. There are 4,678 service voters.

Earlier, voters above 85 years of age and Divyang voters casted vote through 'door to door to vote' process of Election Commission. Voting for general voters was open from 7 am on Friday. Although the deadline for polling is up to 5 pm, polling continues in many polling centers even after 8 pm today.

Young and elderly all votes on this day in a festive mood. After voting, a young voter faced the media and expressed his reaction, saying that he had to stand for a long time in the heat to cast his vote. But it feels good to be able to vote for the first time.

Along with the youth, the seniors also stand in long queues and enthusiastically exercise their democratic rights. After exercising his democratic rights, an elderly voter said that she voted for the overall development of the country.

However, due to EVM malfunctioning in several polling stations on this day, voting was delayed. As a result, voters have to suffer during the scorching heat. 

On average, 79.55 percent voting in East Tripura seat till 5 pm registered. However, after 5 o'clock, many polling stations still voted. As a result, the voter turnout increased further. All in all, voters voted in a festive mood on this day.
