No Rain. Water Crisis Intensifying in Tripura. Worried Farmers

If there is no rain in the next few days, the condition of various water sources, ponds streams and rivers will worsen in Tripura. According to the experts, if there is no rain soon, the people of many areas including the capital Agartala will face severe water shortage.

At present, the farmers are suffering in agriculture as the water level has gone down. In various parts of the state, including Jirania, Teliamura, Melaghar Khowai area, ponds and agricultural land have dried. Many agricultural lands fall due to lack of water irrigation.

On the one hand, the flood of Howrah in monsoon, on the other hand, the water in the river is drying up, people have to face severe problems for this since last few years. Winter spring has gone, the summer season continues without heavy rains. Howrah, Chichima and many canals are dried up.

The farmers are in trouble. At present, the water of the river goes to the bottom.

Howrah has lost its youthful appearance and turned into a pasture. Intense burning is going on in the state. And because of no rain, Howrah, Chichima river along with canals, ponds
is practically becoming dry. No heavy rain till today. The farmers are in extreme trouble.

Due to drying up of rivers and streams, water treatment plants and irrigation machines are not available even through dams in rivers or streams. Since the last few years, the water of the Howrah river has come to the bottom due to the destruction of the hill plants day by day.

Meanwhile people are having trouble for water by planting boro crops. In some places, the farmers are making drains in the middle of the river and then supplying water to the paddy fields through irrigation machines. At the rate at which the river water is receding, if it does not rain in the next few days experts are also of the opinion that acute water crisis may occur in various places including the capital.

Allegedly, although irrigation water machines have been installed in various places by the government, most of them are still not working. Besides, at present, the water in rivers and streams is drying up day by day, even though some of the machines are running, they are not getting the sufficient water.

It has been seen that some farmers are meeting their water needs only by making dams in different parts of the river. However, if there is no rain soon, there may be a drinking water crisis in various places including the capital, and many farmers may also suffer.

A group of farmers are yawning at the sky - when will it rain. Due to lack of rain, the farmers are worried.
