Second Phase of LS Polls: Average 70% Vote Reported In total 7 Seats Of 3 Northeast States

Lok Sabha Poll in remaining 7 seats among total 25 seats of Northeast states was held in the second phase on Friday. The first phase was held on April 19.

On this day polling was held in total 5 seats of Assam and 1 seat each in Tripura and Manipur.

According to the Election Commisson data all these three states reported average 70% voter turnout till 5 pm.

The five constituencies in Assam that went to polls in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections  are Nagaon, Karimganj, Silchar, Diphu and Darrang-Udalguri. 61 candidates are there in the contest. Till 5 pm voter turnout in this state was 70.66%.

In Manipur second phase of Lok Sabha polls held at Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency. Till 5 pm the state reported average 76.06% vote.

Meanwhile a video surfaced from Ukhrul, Manipur, in which some suspects entered in a booth. Congress accused it of hijacking democracy.

Till 5 pm, maximum voting took place in Tripura at around 76.23%. On this day voting was held in the East Tripura Parliamentary constituency which is ST reserved.
