12 Bangladeshi Arrested From West Tripura District

Infiltration of Bangladeshi nationals continues despite strict vigilance by BSF on India-Bangladesh  border areas. 

The police of Sidhai police station arrested a total of 12 people including Bangladeshi citizens and brokers from Gopalnagar area of ​​Mohanpur under West Tripura District. 

The police arrested these 12 people from the India-Bangladesh border area on Sunday late night.

 Among those arrested, 8 are Bangladeshi nationals and the remaining 4 are Indian nationals. 

Police brought the arrested to Sidhai police station at night. Among the 4 arrested Indians, Amar Farooq Mia is a resident of Gopalnagar Muslimpara. 

He is known throughout the area as a notorious social rebel. It is reported that Bangladeshi citizens and Rohingyas come to India illegally by his hand. 

Mohanpur sub-division police officer Vijay Sen said police patrolling in border area is ongoing at night.

 While patrolling on Sunday night, the police learned that some Bangladeshi nationals had illegally entered the state in Gopalnagar area. 

As usual, the police went to the spot and arrested them. The driver of the auto in which they were traveling along with a local youth has been arrested.

Among those arrested are 8 Bangladeshi nationals and 4 Indian nationals. The police produced the arrested before the court on Monday
