"Garib Rath" Express will run from Agartala too. Between Agartala and Kolkata. One day a week on Wednesday from Agartala to Kolkata. Will leave Kolkata for Agartala on Sunday.

The first journey of Garib Rath from Agartala will start on July 3. Starting from Kolkata on July 7. Passengers will be benefited from another train service between Kolkata and Agartala.

However, instead of one day of the week, the demand to run Garib Rath for a few more days has already been raised.

The North East Frontier Railway has decided to resume services of two pairs of Garib Rath Express from July.

Trains will run between Agartala-Kolkata and Guwahati-Kolkata. Train number 12502 (Agartala-Kolkata) Garib Rath Express will run every Wednesday from July 3. The train will leave Agartala at 7:35 am and reach Kolkata at 2:30 pm the next day.

Similarly, train number 12501 (Kolkata-Agartala) Garib Rath Express will depart for Agartala from Kolkata at 9.40 pm every Sunday of the week of July 7. It will reach Agartala station on Tuesday morning at 5:15 am. Garib Rath will stop at Dharmanagar, New Karimganj, Badarpur, New Haflong, Manderdisa and Guwahati stations on its way from Agartala to Kolkata.

After Guwahati, it will reach Kolkata with stops at Goalpara, Town, New Bangaigaon, New Alipurduar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Katwa Junction, Bandel Junction etc. Agartala will come with stops at the same stations on the way back. Garib Rath will not stop anywhere in the state except Dharmanagar station.

Passengers have raised questions as to why Garib Rath will stop at only one station in the state even though other long-distance trains stop at Ambasa.

The timetable released by the North East Frontier Railway Garib Rath suggests that this same train will also be run between Guwahati-Kolkata with a change of number. Train number 12518 will leave Guwahati for Kolkata on Saturday. Train number 12518 will depart from Kolkata to Guwahati on Thursday.

Garib Rath will have 16 AC-3 tier economy coaches. Railways said that the launch of this express train service will fulfill the long-standing demand of the public.

Notable that Garib Rath is one of the no frills trains of Indian Railways. Air-conditioned trains are cheaper than regular trains.
