59.06% Voter Turnout Recorded Till 7.45 PM in Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 6

In the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, held on Saturday for 58 seats in six states and two union territories, including all seven seats in Delhi. 

Apart from the national capital, voting  took place in 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, all 10 seats in Haryana, eight each in Bihar and West Bengal, six seats in Odisha, four seats in Jharkhand and one seat in Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from this, voting is also being held in 42 assembly seats in Odisha.

The voter turnout in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 was 59.06%. The highest voting was in West Bengal, where the voter turnout was 78.19%.

While the lowest voting was 52.28% in Jammu and Kashmir. However, this is the highest turnout in Anantnag-Rajouri in several decades. Apart from this, voting has also taken place in Srinagar and Baramulla in Kashmir.

Many big leaders are in the fray in the sixth phase. Among them are three Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Krishna Pal Singh Gurjar and Rao Indrajit Singh. Three former Chief Ministers Mehbooba Mufti, Manohar Lal Khattar and Jagdambika Pal are also contesting the elections.

Apart from these, Manoj Tiwari, Maneka Gandhi, Naveen Jindal, Bansuri Swaraj, Sambit Patra, Raj Babbar, Nirahua are also trying their luck. Kanhaiya Kumar is in the fray against Manoj Tiwari. According to the Election Commission, 889 candidates are contesting in the sixth phase of the election. Among them, there are 797 male and 92 female candidates.

According to the data released by the Election Commission, 53.30% voting took place in Bihar, 58.37% in Haryana. While it was 62.74% in Jharkhand, 60.07% in Odisha. Voter turnout in the voting for all 7 seats in Delhi was 54.48%. While the turnout in Uttar Pradesh was 54.03%.

In this way, voting has been completed for 486 seats in 28 states and union territories. Now, under the final phase, voting will be held on 57 Lok Sabha seats in 8 states on June 1.

Delhi recorded 53.75 % while Anantnag Rajouri seat of Jammu and Kashmir recorded 51.35 % turnout, the poll panel said. Jharkhand recorded 61.14 % turnout till 5 pm.

49.2% Voter Turnout Recorded Till 3 PM

A voter turnout of 49.20% was recorded till 3 pm on Saturday in 58 constituencies where polling is being held. West Bengal recorded the highest voter turnout at 70.19%, while Uttar Pradesh recorded the lowest at 43.95%, according to the Election Commission of India. Delhi recorded a voter turnout of 44.58% till 3 pm. Haryana, where all the 10 seats went to polls, saw a turnout of 46.26%. The voter participation in Odisha was 48.44%.
