14-Years-Old Victim Gang-Raped While Returning From Tuition In Assam

The 14-year-old victim was gang-raped while returning from tuition on August 22 in Dhing, Assam. 

This incident happened when the victim was barely half a kilometer away from her home. This heinous incident has not only shattered the dreams of the victim but has also left her family in shock and grief.

Let us tell you that the victim lives with her aunt and grandparents. The victim's dream is to become a DSP. But her father cannot help much, so he sent his beloved daughter to her aunt's house. 

This is how the daughter's aunt raised her. Although their financial condition was also bad, they ensured that the daughter gets a good education. 

The victim's aunt supports the family with a meager salary of Rs 10,000 and she is also responsible for the care and education of the daughter. But their simple life became dark when this incident happened with the daughter. 

This incident happened on 22nd August at around 6 pm, when three assailants attacked the innocent girl and committed gang rape. She was left unconscious and injured in the forest. Local residents found her and took her to the hospital, from where she was later referred to Nagaon Medical College for treatment. Protests broke out in Assam after this incident. 

The victim's aunt is devastated after the incident. She is demanding justice for her daughter. Speaking to India Today NE, she said, "I am devastated, I never thought that something so horrible would happen here. It seems that I have failed to protect her. That day she (the victim) had to go to tuition by bicycle, because there was no e-rickshaw and they had some work." The victim's aunt said that the daughter had asked two days ago, "Aunty, what is rape?" because she had come to know about a similar crime in Kolkata.

Regarding this incident, the victim's aunt has demanded the harshest punishment for the culprits and has demanded death penalty for such heinous crimes. 

She said that the daughter used to say that one day she would become a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). 

The family has demanded that the culprits be hanged and has appealed to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to come forward for their safety and necessary assistance for the victim's education.

Let us tell you that the main accused of gang rape, Tafazul Islam, escaped from police custody on Saturday and jumped into a pond, due to which he died. 

Police said that the accused was arrested on Friday and he was taken to the crime scene at around 3:30 am to explore the 'crime scene
