209 Schools Are Severely Damaged Due To Flood: Tripura Education Department

Due to the flood situation, education in Tripura has been disrupted a lot.
Officials of the School Education Department and Higher Education Department said this in a press conference at the Civil Secretariat on Sunday.
Director of School Education Department NC Sharma said, except Udaipur and Amarpur sub-divisions, the damage to the infrastructure in education in various sub-divisions of the state has seen a loss of around Rs 11 crore.
He said that Jagram Para SB School and Ganamukti Para JB School under Satchand Block of South Tripura District are completely destroyed due to the the flood. Temporary camps are currently there in 239 schools. There are many people in those Shalter homes. Besides, water has risen in many schools. As a result, school classrooms are filled with silt. District education officials have been directed to clean the schools. Besides, 209 schools are affected by this flood in various ways.
He also said that so far it has been noticed that books of about 12,000 students' have been destroyed.
He said that boojs will be given through SCERT. He also said that for the time being the review is going on regarding the opening of the school. Because there are still relief camps in many schools. And many schools are damaged by the floods. Schools cannot open without cleaning. Other wise the students will get sick, he said
