50 More Seats In TMC. Major Changes Underway In Health Service: Tripura CM

"The present government has always been making sincere efforts to improve health services and infrastructure. As a result of that effort, fifty more seats are being increased in the MBBS course in Tripura Medical College, which is run by the society" the Chief Minister of the state said on Monday. 

Manik Saha The Chief Minister said this in response to questions from journalists at an event on this day. 

In this context, the Chief Minister further said that there are currently four hundred medical seats in the state. After increasing fifty more seats in TMC, the number of seats will stand at four hundred and fifty. 

Chief Minister said, this is very happy news for the children of the state. Children of the state will get more opportunities to study medicine. 

The chief minister also said that there was a time before Children of the state had to go abroad to study medicine. Now students from outside the state are coming to Tripura to study in MBBS Course. Not only MBBS courses, the state currently has eighty-five MD, MS and diploma course seats in two medical colleges".

On the question of establishing 'AIIMS' in the state, Chief Minister Dr. Saha said that the state government is making maximum efforts. Two lands have also been identified for this. On behalf of the state government, discussions are ongoing with the central government in this regard. 

The Chief Minister said that the central government has a guideline for the Northeast region in this regard. AIIMS is offered in Guwahati. As a result, we are optimistic. I have talked about setting up a medical college hospital like 'RIMS' or 'Nigrims' if not 'AIIMS'.

Moreover, I have also suggested whether something like this can be done by upgrading the Tripura Medical College. 

The chief minister said that he has talked to the central government, the Union Ministry of Health and the current Union Health Minister JP Nadda several times about these issues. Therefore, we hope that the Government of India and the Ministry of Health will take a positive decision in this regard. 

Chief Minister said that we have kept these issues in the priority list.

The Chief Minister also said that the Srija Hospital authorities of Manipur are also interested in building a superspeciality hospital in Tripura. They will invest Rs 750 crore in the state. This work is in very advance stage.

The Chief Minister said that the recent kidney transplant done in GB Hospital was done by Srija Hospital doctors.

The Chief Minister claimed that this hospital has a good reputation in the North East. All in all, the Chief Minister claimed that there are going to be major changes in the health services and health infrastructure of the state in the coming days.
