880 Died Due To Devastating Flood In Assam From 2019 To July 25, 2024: Govt

As many as 880 people have died due to the devastating floods in Assam from 2019 till July 25 this year, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai gave these figures in response to a question asked by MP Sushmita Dev in the Rajya Sabha.
The annual number of casualties are: 157 in 2019, 190 in 2020, 73 in 2021, 278 in 2022, 65 in 2023 and 117 till July 25 this year.
Rai also highlighted the efforts being made to manage the flood problem in Assam through advanced technology.
The National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have developed a state-level flood hazard zonation atlas for Assam using satellite data from 1998 to 2023
